Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, a leader in nuclear power engineering, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and review electrical systems for existing nuclear plants and new projects. You will develop design change packages, perform critical electrical calculations, and help oversee vendor selection and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• 5+ years in design of electrical systems for industrial projects, with nuclear focus.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Experience with low and medium voltage distribution (transformers, generators, motors, relays).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to obtain nuclear site badge access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install, replace or upgrade equipment.
• Perform electrical calculations (short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, relay settings).
• Prepare procurement specifications and review vendor responses.
• Interface with project team members across disciplines and with clients.
• Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns; travel to offices and plant sites as needed.
• Support site installation activities and project execution within budget and schedule.
• Assist project manager and ensure deliverables meet scope and budget; track progress and issue resolution.
