Job summary

Stantec seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design and engineering of water and wastewater projects. As Engineer-of-Record, you will size, evaluate, and specify electrical systems, perform design calculations, and develop construction packages.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and contractors, and manage scope, budget, and schedule on multiple projects. The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and extensive experience in

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and building codes and industry standards.
• Understanding of project document production and drawings/specs relationship.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems in water/wastewater projects.
• Ability to lead teams through all design phases.
• Capable of time and budget management for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as Engineer-of-Record for projects with varying complexity.
• Engineer electrical systems, select components, and prepare designs.
• Develop designs via sketches, models, diagrams, and drawings.
• Create 3D models of electrical systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Prepare, revise, and coordinate plans and specifications.
• Lead project coordination meetings with stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings and cost estimating.
• Manage project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• Coordinate construction documents and specifications.
• Conduct constructability reviews and QA/QC on projects.
• Assist in developing new standards for the electrical group.
• Support proposal development for smaller projects.
• Oversee multiple projects and field reviews.
