Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Digital/Mixed-Signal Electronics group. You will design, analyze, and bring up complex space-grade electronics, from concept to production, including SDRs, SBCs, and telemetry subsystems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or higher required.
• 5+ years of board-level electronics design, analysis and test.
• Experience with digital and mixed-signal electronics, signal integrity, and high-speed SerDes.
• Experience owning design phases from concepts through production.
• Strong PCB layout and HDI stackup skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in aerospace contexts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and small systems, from concept and architecture through schematic, layout, test, and production.
• Focus on digital and mixed-signal hardware for space applications (SDRs, SBCs, telemetry subsystems).
• Lead small hardware teams to develop multi-module assemblies.
• Develop hardware architecture and write hardware requirements for systems of moderate complexity.
• Perform detailed schematic design and PCB layout for complex boards and passives.
• Run simulations and analyze signal integrity, power integrity, and worst-case conditions.
• Create bring-up and verification plans; perform bring-up and testing with technicians.
• Release modules to production with Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers to build capability and drive execution.
• Collaborate with software and mechanical teams to streamline hardware development.
