Job summary

CesiumAstro, Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Digital/Mixed-Signal Electronics team. Join a startup-style environment developing high‑reliability space and airborne electronics, including SDRs, SBCs, and telemetry subsystems.

You will own from concept to production, lead small teams, perform SI/PI analyses, and mentor engineers while collaborating with software and mechanical colleagues to deliver robust hardware for aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Experience with high-speed digital (10+ Gbps SerDes) and SDR applications preferred.
• Expertise in PCB layout and HDI stackup design.
• Experience bringing hardware designs through production.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules from concept through production.
• Lead small hardware teams to develop multi-module assemblies.
• Develop hardware architecture and write requirements for systems of moderate complexity.
• Perform detailed schematic design for complex boards.
• Perform PCB layout in Altium Designer for complex boards.
• Conduct board-level and box-level analysis such as SI and PI.
• Develop bring-up and verification plans for new hardware.
• Execute bring-up and testing with technicians for validation.
• Release modules to production with Manufacturing and Test teams.
• Mentor junior engineers to build technical skills.
• Collaborate with adjacent software and mechanical teams to streamline development.
