Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for high-reliability space and aerospace systems. You will own architecture, schematic design, and layout, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with software and mechanical teams.

You will guide bring-up, verification, and production release, delivering robust hardware for satellites and airborne platforms in a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 12+ years of board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Experience in high-reliability space/defense electronics and thermal constraints.
• Ownership of design phases including architecture and detailed design.
• Delivery of hardware products through production and deployment.
• Expertise in HDI layout, IPC standards, and manufacturing practices.
• Proficiency with Altium and lab-based bring-up and verification.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and systems.
• Lead hardware teams to develop multi-module products.
• Provide SME support across hardware development.
• Develop hardware architecture and write system requirements.
• Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts for complex boards.
• Perform signal and power integrity analyses and guide methodology.
• Develop bring-up and verification plans for new hardware.
• Lead validation testing with cross-functional teams.
• Release modules to production with Manufacturing and Test teams.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers to grow technical skills.
• Collaborate with software and mechanical teams to optimize designs.
