Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a senior technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection to IT load, guiding design, reviews, and client communication.

You will lead architecture, power systems, and studies, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with global delivery teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• PE license active in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; NCEES record preferred.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generator plants and paralleling.
• Experience with short-circuit/load-flow/arc-flash studies using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture decisions from utility service through IT load.
• Provide senior leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, and UPS systems.
• Review and perform power studies (load-flow, short-circuit, arc-flash).
• Provide independent design governance across project teams and delivery resources.
• Support project execution from planning through turnover; manage RFIs and technical changes.
• Lead AI/HPC power strategy discussions with clients and pursue innovative energy solutions.
