Job summary

Axon seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the design, development, and validation of complex electrical systems for mission‑critical, connected hardware. You will lead across schematics, RF coexistence, mechanical integration, and bring‑up debugging in a founding hardware team role.

You will collaborate with electrical engineering and external partners to drive hardware objectives to completion, shaping the architecture and standards for scalable, compliant devices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of embedded electronics design experience with high‑density, battery‑powered or low‑power systems.
• PCB design and layout, RF integration and coexistence, mechanical integration, and hardware bring‑up/debugging for highly integrated devices.
• Experience across embedded subsystems including processors, microcontrollers, memory, power delivery, and RF/wireless interfaces.
• Proven ability take electronics from concept through schematic and PCB design, verification, and mass production.
• Strong understanding of RF coexistence and interference across cellular/regulatory bands and signal integrity/power integrity concerns.
• Hands‑on experience with Cadence OrCAD and Allegro and with test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/memory/logic analyzers, power supplies).
• Experience designing rigid/flex PCBs and meeting US/international hardware and safety standards.
• Experience collaborating with design partners, ODMs/JDMs; able to work across distributed teams.
• Flexibility to travel domestically up to 50% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and validation of complex electrical systems for mission‑critical hardware.
• Provide technical leadership and set architecture/engineering standards for the hardware team.
• Collaborate across schematics, layout, RF, mechanical integration, form factor, and debugging across multiple domains.
• Drive BOMs, design documentation, verification, and readiness from concept to mass production.
• Lead and review hardware designs with internal and external partners to ensure objectives are met.
