Job summary

Axon is seeking a founding Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electrical design, development, and validation of complex hardware for mission-critical devices. You will lead mixed-signal schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, and production readiness.

You will collaborate with RF, Mechanical, Firmware, and Manufacturing teams to address SI/PI, EMI/EMC, and form factor challenges, and travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of electrical and circuit board design experience.
• Experience taking complex electronics from architecture to production.
• Strong background in high-density mixed-signal PCBs with application processors, memory, and power systems.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces like DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, MIPI.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed mixed-signal schematic design across processors, memory, power management, and interfaces.
• Drive complex, high-density PCB designs from architecture to layout and release.
• Ensure signal and power integrity across high-speed interfaces and analog circuits.
• Lead component selection, power-tree design, and battery/charging architectures.
• Collaborate with Mechanical and Industrial Design for form factor and thermal performance.
• Lead board bring-up, testing, and root-cause analysis with lab equipment.
• Ensure readiness through EVT/DVT/PVT, certification, and mass production.
• Provide technical direction and reviews to engineers and partners.
