Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer – Experienced Professional for our Fort Worth, TX office. Candidates in Houston, Overland Park, KS and St Louis, MO will also be considered.

You will work on electrical studies, SCADA and protection tasks within the ESSP team, contributing to power delivery and grid projects. The role involves design studies, relay settings, network configurations, and technical reporting, with occasional travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree (BSEE/BSEET/BSCe).
• 3–5 years in design or device configuration in electrical disciplines.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of power systems, protection and standards.
• Analytical with good judgement and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with detail and accuracy.
• Experience with technical writing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and system protection tasks.
• Support power system planning studies and contingencies analysis.
• Develop protection schemes, relay settings, and criteria.
• Produce technical reports with findings and conclusions.
• Assist with risk identification and project coordination.
• Travel to project sites for testing and commissioning.
