Job summary

WSP is seeking a High Voltage Power Systems Engineer for our Fort Worth, TX office to contribute to the ESSP team’s electrical studies, SCADA and protection projects. You will perform protective relaying, planning studies, design studies, and network/communications tasks, with travel as needed; ABET‑accredited degree and 3–5 years experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related ABET‑accredited program
  • 3–5 years of industry experience in design or device configuration
  • Strong understanding of three‑phase power and power system fundamentals
  • Proven analytical and communication skills, with ability to work independently or in a team

Responsibilities

  • Perform protective relaying analysis (short circuit, coordination, relay settings) and SCADA integration
  • Conduct power system planning studies including outage contingencies and voltage stability
  • Carry out design studies for substations, grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality
  • Develop and review technical reports and documentation with calculations and sketches
  • Travel to project sites for commissioning and testing as needed
