Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of MV/LV electrical systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities in Utah. You will set engineering standards, perform power system studies, lead substation and protection design, and coordinate with clients and regulators.

They require a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years' experience, proficiency in SKM ETAP, and knowledge of IEEE/IEC standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience with leadership of complex MV/LV design programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in power system analysis software (SKM ETAP) covering load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and motor starting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead substation design from concept through detailed engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, CSA, and IEC electrical standards for industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MV/LV electrical design for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities.
  • Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, harmonics).
  • Prepare protection relay settings and coordination plots.
  • Develop single line diagrams and equipment layouts; review vendor drawings and FATs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and represent electrical discipline in design reviews and regulatory meetings.
