Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer to design and engineer MV and LV electrical systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing and process facilities in Utah. You will cover the full electrical scope from power studies through equipment specification, protection design, and commissioning support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in MV/LV distribution system design for process/industrial projects.
• Experience with power system analysis software (SKM/ETAP) for load flow, short circuit, protection coordination.
• Experience with arc flash studies to IEEE 1584 and familiarity with IEEE/NEMA/ANSI/CSA IEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical load lists and perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, harmonics).
• Prepare arc flash analysis to IEEE 1584 and grounding calculations to IEEE 80.
• Create single line diagrams and layouts for MV/LV distribution, cable schedules, and tray routing.
• Specify MV/LV equipment (switchgear, MCCs, transformers, bus ducts, UPS, generators) and prepare related drawings.
• Lead vendor qualification, bid evaluation, and factory audits for electrical packages.
