Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support its Energy & Resources group with a focus on hydropower projects. The role involves leading electrical design, supervising a project team, and managing field work from planning through post-construction.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of NFPA 70, high/medium voltage systems, SCADA interfaces, and strong communication skills. Location preference includes San Diego, Irvine, or Pasadena with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and PE preferred.
• Experience with hydro facilities, controls and protective relay systems.
• Ability to design interfaces with SCADA/Control systems and power distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design tasks and supervise the project team.
• Perform field work, planning studies, and prepare design calculations.
• Develop construction packages and cost estimates; support commissioning.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
