Job summary

Stantec is seeking an intermediate Civil/Hydrologic & Hydraulic Engineer to join the hydropower and dams group in Southern California (Pasadena, Irvine, or San Diego). The role includes analyses, modeling, and design for dam and hydroelectric projects, with travel to construction and client sites.

You will prepare technical reports, assist with feasibility studies, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across planning, design, and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Civil/hydrologic and hydraulics engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with CAD/ GIS tools; Civil3D or ArcGIS helpful.
• California PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses for dam and hydroelectric projects.
• Model hydrology/hydraulics using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, LifeSim, FLO2D.
• Prepare sketches, diagrams, and design drawings.
• Develop quantity estimates and assist with construction drawings.
• Provide engineering support during construction and QA/QC.
