Job summary

Jacobs seeks a senior Electrical SME to lead power‑systems architecture for hyperscale and mission‑critical data center programs in the United States. You will shape electrical infrastructure from utility interconnection through IT receptacles, guide MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling, while mentoring teams and contributing to standards development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET‑accredited program; Master’s preferred.
• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; NCEES record for reciprocity.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission‑critical data centers.
• Proficiency with MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Oversee power chain from medium‑voltage switchgear to UPS, generators, and busways; perform short‑circuit studies.
• Mentor engineers, develop reusable standards, and ensure code compliance with NEC/NFPA/IEEE.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; contribute to proposals and RFP responses.
