Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and execution of power distribution and electrical systems for large central plant projects. You will deliver technical excellence, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and drive successful project outcomes from concept through startup.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in electrical engineering, PE registration or pursuit, and strong experience with NEC/NFPA/NESC standards. Travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering registration or willingness to pursue.
• Experience designing electrical utility generation & distribution systems.
• Experience with Process, Instrumentation and Controls.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Designs and supports power distribution systems (primary requirement).
• Designs medium-voltage and 480V power systems for industrial, utility, and buildings.
• Designs building power and lighting systems including UPS and emergency generators.
• Performs power system studies using SKM PTW (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash).
• Prepares specifications and reviews submittals to meet codes and scope.
• Provides construction observation, startup assistance, and field support.
• Assists business development through proposals and client meetings.
• May serve as project manager for complete projects.
