Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Utilities & Central Energy group. You will deliver technical excellence, manage multi-disciplinary projects, and drive successful completion from concept to startup.

Responsibilities include design, procurement leadership, and coordinating with subconsultants while mentoring junior staff. This role requires strong communication, travel up to 25%, and PE registration or pursuit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated strong proficiency in utilities generation and distribution systems design.
• Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with Designers, Engineers, and sub-consultants.
• Project management skills and knowledge of related tools and processes.
• Ability to assimilate a range of ideas into a set of recommendations.
• Self-directed and thrives in an environment where consultation leads to superior outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares engineering documents and equipment specifications.
• Performs engineering calculations.
• Approves final utilities systems/equipment selections and drawing submittals.
• Leads utilities systems/equipment procurement efforts.
• Manages projects and teams, ensuring that work efforts and costs are accurately scoped and estimated.
• Actively manages assigned projects, driving them to completion.
