Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and delivery of electrical power systems for district energy, utilities, and industrial campus projects. You will ensure scope and budget adherence while guiding a collaborative team from concept to startup.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, P.E. registration or pursuit, and strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA/NESC. Participation in business development and travel up to 25% are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer registration or willingness to pursue this designation.
• Proven ability in electrical utility generation and distribution design.
• Knowledge of Process, Instrumentation, and Controls.
• Understanding of NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Travel up to 25% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Designs and supports power distribution systems (primary requirement).
• Designs medium-voltage and 480V power systems for industrial, utility, and building applications.
• Designs building power and lighting systems with protective measures and UPS/dc systems.
• Performs power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash) using SKM PTW.
• Prepares engineering documents and specs meeting codes and standards.
• Reviews contractor and vendor submittals and selections.
• Creates project plans, schedules, and budgets; supports business development.
