Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Utilities & Central Energy group. You will lead design efforts for large central plant projects, ensure code compliance, and drive successful delivery from concept to commissioning.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and PE registration or willingness to obtain it. Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• PE registration or willingness to pursue designation.
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience in utilities generation and distribution systems design.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Project management skills and related tools/processes.
• Self-directed with the ability to derive recommendations.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Travel up to 25% domestic.

Responsibilities

• Prepares engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope.
• Performs engineering calculations.
• Leads utilities systems/equipment procurement efforts.
• Manages projects and teams, ensuring accurate scoping and estimation.
• Actively manages assigned projects to completion.
• Provides technical and engineering support to other departments.
• May represent KFI at conferences and client events.
