Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to support Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and power projects in the Boston area. You will develop layouts, one-line diagrams, and construction packages, while coordinating with civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure compliant, robust designs.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in electrical design for buildings, BESS or renewables experience, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Architectural Engineering with Electrical emphasis.
• Minimum 10 years in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Experience with BESS, power generation or renewables integration helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support BESS projects with layouts and one-line diagrams through construction packages.
• Evaluate energy storage tech and support microgrid and DER projects.
• Develop electrical design plans, specs, cost estimates, and construction docs.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, FLS, HV electrical, SCADA, water, and geotechnical engineers.
• Provide construction phase technical support and RFI processing.
