Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior electrical engineer to design and deliver battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a focus on grid-scale projects in the New England region. You will develop layouts, one-line diagrams, and construction documents, while coordinating with civil, structural, and fire/life safety teams.

With 10+ years in electrical design, you will mentor junior staff, review technical reports, support client interactions, and help advance HDR's energy storage and power generation

Responsibilities

• Support grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from concept through construction packages.
• Evaluate energy storage technologies and support vendor selection and implementation.
• Develop design plans, technical specs, cost estimates and construction docs at design milestones.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, F&LS, high-voltage electrical, SCADA/telecom, water and geotechnical engineers.
