Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) expertise to lead electrical design initiatives in the New England region. The role requires a PE license and at least 10 years of building electrical design experience, including power, lighting, and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (PE or P.Eng).

Responsibilities

• Support grid scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects with conceptual layouts and one-line diagrams.
• Develop and review engineering design plans, specs, cost estimates, and construction documents at various milestones for BESS projects.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, fire & life safety, high-voltage electrical, SCADA/telecom, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete design packages.
• Provide construction phase technical support including RFIs, submittal reviews, CPRs and change orders.
