Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead design work for battery energy storage systems and power generation projects. You will coordinate with civil, structural, and other disciplines to produce complete design packages and support construction.

The role requires a PE license and at least 10 years in electrical design, with strong technical writing and client-facing communication skills. Travel up to 10% is expected as projects span multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical-related field and PE license may be required.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and life safety systems.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience in BESS, power generation, renewables, or power system controls.

Responsibilities

• Support grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from concept to construction packages.
• Evaluate energy storage tech, vendors, and support microgrid/distributed energy resources design.
• Develop electrical design plans, specifications, and cost estimates at milestones.
