Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of electrical systems for automotive and industrial facilities. You will serve as Engineer of Record and collaborate with clients, PMs, and cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Based in Scottsdale, AZ with hybrid or remote options, the role offers a salary range of $120k–$140k per year, ownership opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license or licensure via reciprocity.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial/manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with automotive, battery manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, consumer products, or food & beverage facilities.
• Strong understanding of facility electrical infrastructure including MV/LV, MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, grounding, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive, manufacturing, battery, and industrial facility projects.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead on projects of varying complexity and size.
• Develop electrical power distribution systems from utility service through facility distribution networks.
• Prepare and review: One-line diagrams, Power plans, Equipment layouts, Cable schedules, Electrical room layouts, Lighting systems, Grounding systems, Load calculations, Short-circuit and coordination studies.
• Design medium- and low-voltage power systems supporting industrial processes and facility infrastructure.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, structural, civil, and architecture teams throughout project development.
• Support facility expansion, modernization, and greenfield manufacturing projects.
• Interface directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Review vendor documentation and coordinate utility service requirements.
• Support equipment procurement, construction activities, startup, and commissioning efforts.
• Lead design reviews, quality reviews, and constructability assessments.
• Develop project scopes, engineering estimates, schedules, and staffing plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence and quality standards.
• Support business development efforts including proposals, client presentations, and project pursuits.
