Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a seasoned Electrical SME for hyperscale and mission-critical programs, guiding power systems from MV/LV distribution to UPS topology and generator paralleling. You’ll mentor teams, engage with clients, and shape delivery strategies across multi-discipline projects.

Primarily office-based with up to 10–15% travel, Jacobs offers a hybrid work model, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package. PE licensure and 20+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• PE License active in at least one state; NCEES for reciprocity.
• 20+ years in electrical engineering; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or advanced facilities.
• Expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and Define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Oversee power systems studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow) using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• Develop Jacobs' electrical standards, master specs, and calculation libraries for data center practice.
• Provide technical governance across teams; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
