Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead power systems for hyperscale data center programs, spanning MV/LV design, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer schemes, and arc-flash safety.

You will drive technical governance, mentor engineers, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams while representing Jacobs in industry forums and client workshops. A PE licensure, 20+ years in data centers, and a hybrid work environment are required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's in electrical engineering; master's preferred.
• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; licensure required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients, defining MV/LV distribution architecture and interconnection approaches.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, PDUs, and busway; perform short-circuit analyses and load-flow studies.
• Review calculations, drawings, and submittals for quality and code compliance; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines and engage in external forums and industry groups.
• Mentor electrical engineers and designers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs.
