Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a lead electrical/instrumentation designer with 12+ years of progressive experience to oversee a design team and deliver complete electrical deliverables on time and within budget.

You will develop specifications for 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment, produce installation details, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure safe and compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD is required.
• 12+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical/instrumentation drafting and design.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical installation standards.
• Ability to lead a small design team and coordinate across disciplines.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation; 3D CAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead designers to deliver electrical/instrumentation deliverables on time and within budget.
• Develop 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications.
• Produce installation details, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Ensure design quality and compliance with codes and standards.
