Job summary

Hargrove is seeking an Electrical Designer to perform complete electrical/instrumentation design for industrial projects in our Lake Charles office. You will work under general supervision assisting in larger assignments.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience, an Associate degree, NEC knowledge, and proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation. You will prepare installation details, drawings, and support on-site startup while collaborating with a diverse team.

Qualifications

?Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD preferred.
?4+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
?Familiarity with NEC and ability to size wire, conduit, and overcurrent protection.
?Ability to perform voltage drop calculations and route conduit/cable trays.
?Ability to create accurate electrical installation documents from vendor drawings.
?Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
?2D AutoCAD and Microstation proficiency; 3D AutoCAD desirable.

Responsibilities

Produce installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding plans.
Support on-site startup activities.
Adhere to department design and drafting standards and project scope.
