Job summary

The role requires extensive EC&I design experience, strong NEC knowledge and the ability to mentor junior staff.

The position emphasizes technical leadership, client coordination, and on-site startup support, with a focus on 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications and detailed installation work.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD drafting required.
• Familiarity with NEC and experience sizing wires and conduit.
• Ability to develop equipment specifications for 480VAC/15kV systems and perform short‑circuit calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of designers to deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior drafters.
• Coordinate with discipline leads and clients to define scope and design criteria.
• Develop 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications and installation details.
• Produce cable schedules, motor control layouts, and grounding schemes.
• Assist startup on-site and support project controls for cost and schedule.
