Public Library of Science seeks a Senior Editor, Publication Ethics to investigate and resolve ethics cases across PLOS journals. You will support journal teams and contribute to policy development in a fully remote role.

You will work with editors, authors, and external stakeholders, upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity. This is a 12‑month FTC with global coverage and a strong emphasis on ethics education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in editorial or publication ethics role in STM publishing.
• First-hand experience resolving publication ethics cases.
• Familiarity with COPE standards and guidance.

Responsabilités

• Resolve publication ethics cases in line with COPE guidance and PLOS standards.
• Provide ethics support to journal teams and staff editors.
• Contribute to team initiatives and cross‑functional projects on ethics and integrity.
• Support editors during manuscript handling, peer review, or post‑publication issues.
• Communicate effectively with editors, authors, and other stakeholders about ethics cases.
• Participate in internal discussions on publication ethics and integrity.
• Attend COPE Forums within working hours and stay aware of industry issues.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training for the Publication Ethics team.
