The Public Library of Science (PLOS) is seeking a Senior Editor, Publication Ethics to investigate and resolve publication ethics cases across all journals. You’ll support journal teams, contribute to policy development, and engage with external organizations on ethics initiatives.

In this role you’ll work with a remote team, uphold COPE standards, and help train staff while promoting integrity and open access across PLOS journals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in an editorial or publication ethics role in STM publishing.
• First-hand experience resolving publication ethics cases.
• Aptitude for critically evaluating scientific articles or ethics issues.
• Post-graduate research experience (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Investigate and resolve publication ethics cases for all PLOS journals.
• Provide publication ethics support to journal teams and editors.
• Contribute to team initiatives, policies, and cross-functional projects.
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding for vacant team positions.
• Communicate ethics issues clearly with stakeholders and maintain professionalism.
