Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) to own EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules in a remote U.S. based role.

You will troubleshoot 270/271, 276/277, 820, 835 transactions, analyze SNIP validations, and collaborate with Edifecs experts, DevSecOps, and cloud teams.

Candidates should have 8+ years in EDI, HIPAA, Edifecs, and AWS, with strong communication and documentation skills; US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Experience with EDI X.12 loops/segments/element interpretation.
• Ability to interpret Edifecs logs and error codes.
• Experience with Edifecs XEngine validation results.
• Familiarity with payer/provider workflows.
• Understanding of AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS data flows.

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations.
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets: 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA.
• Analyze SNIP compliance, companion guides, and partner-specific validation rules.
• Document mapping/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes.
• Partner with stakeholders for issue resolution and impact assessments.
• Support audit/compliance reviews and maintain data quality guardrails.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business teams.
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows.
