Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) to own EDI workflows, data validation, and partner integrations in a remote capacity. You will interpret transaction sets, SNIP validations, and support audits while collaborating across DevSecOps, cloud teams, and business units.

The role requires 8+ years in EDI/Edifecs, strong AWS experience, and excellent communication to engage stakeholders. U.S. citizenship or equivalent clearance is required for this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Proficient in payer/provider workflows and EDI X.12 standards.
• Able to interpret loops/segments/elements and errors.
• Experience with Edifecs Transaction Management or equivalent tools.
• Strong AWS cloud experience and SQL knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of SNIP validations and companion guides.

Responsibilities

• Own EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations.
• Interpret and troubleshoot 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA.
• Document mappings and integration changes for new partners.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for issue resolution and impact assessments.
• Support audits and maintain data quality guardrails.
• Work with AWS, AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows for integrations.
• Identify issues from middleware or APIs and reconcile data.
