Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) for a remote U.S.-based position. The role focuses on owning EDI workflows, data validation, and partner integrations across 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, and 999/277CA.

You will leverage Edifecs Transaction Management, XEngine, and AWS to ensure accurate transaction processing, SNIP compliance, and data quality. The role requires strong communication with stakeholders and experience in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Understanding of payer/provider workflows
• Ability to interpret loops/segments/elements errors
• Experience with Edifecs Transaction Management or equivalent tools
• Strong AWS cloud experience
• Excellent communication with stakeholders
• Knowledge of SNIP validations and companion guides
• Experience interpreting Edifecs logs and error codes
• Experience with Edifecs maps and implementation guides
• Root-cause analysis of transaction errors and mapping gaps
• Ability to translate business reporting needs into technical data models

Responsibilities

• Own EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets (270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA)
• Analyze SNIP compliance and companion guides
• Document mapping and integration changes
• Collaborate with stakeholders for issue resolution and impact assessments
• Support audits and maintain data quality guardrails
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, and Cloud teams
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows
• Validate data with non-X.12 partners
• Identify issues from middleware or APIs
• Query SQL for transaction details
• Validate payloads, timestamps, statuses, and error flags
• Reconcile mismatches between raw EDI and stored data
• Understand inbound/outbound workflow architecture
• Communicate architectural decisions to non-technical stakeholders
• Translate business reporting requirements into data models
• Participate in Agile processes (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA
• Maintain SOPs and partner reference guides
