Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (EDI) to own EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules. The role emphasizes accurate transaction processing and collaboration with EDI analysts, DevSecOps, and cloud teams in a remote setup.

You will interpret 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, and related transaction sets, while ensuring SNIP compliance and data quality. A strong Edifecs background and AWS experience are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Understand payer/provider workflows.
• Interpret loops/segments/element errors.
• Experience with Edifecs Transaction Management.
• Strong AWS cloud experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of SNIP validations.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and JIRA.
• Document transaction flow and SOPs.
• Experience interpreting Edifecs XEngine validation results.
• Ability to identify root causes of transaction errors.

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations.
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets (270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA).
• Analyze SNIP compliance, companion guides, and partner validation rules.
• Document mappings/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes.
• Partner with business stakeholders for issue resolution and impact assessments.
• Support audit/compliance reviews and maintain data quality guardrails.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business teams.
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows.
• Validate data with non-X.12 partners.
• Identify issues from middleware/APIs.
• Query SQL for transaction details.
• Validate payloads, timestamps, statuses, and error flags.
• Reconcile mismatches between raw EDI and stored data.
