Job summary

Leidos in Virginia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a DoD program for AFLCMC, focusing on engineering, deployment, modernization, and sustainment of enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.

The role requires hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, WAN, secure communications, and RMF/STIGs, with on-site work in Lorton, VA; you will design, implement, and support DoD network solutions with strong documentation and collaboration.

Qualifications

Experience designing, implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
Strong understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models and network protocols (Layers 1–4).
Hands-on experience configuring enterprise routers and switches.
Experience with LAN technologies (VLANs, 802.1Q, STP/RSTP, link aggregation, L3 switching).
Experience with WAN connectivity (IPsec/site‑to‑site VPN, MPLS).
Knowledge of network security, segmentation, encryption, and defense-in-depth.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed network architectures and designs aligned with DoD, Air Force, cybersecurity, availability, and mission requirements.
Translate requirements into network designs, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN gateways).
Engineer LAN and WAN solutions with STP, QoS, ACLs, and high availability.
Configure routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and secure WAN connectivity.
Support DoD cybersecurity requirements and DoD security controls.
