Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a Department of War customer in the Washington DC metro area. You will join an elite team to build, maintain, and support secure government networks.

You will integrate compute, storage, security, and cloud access, refine designs with customers, and mentor junior engineers. The role includes troubleshooting, firewall design, VPN maintenance, and cross-team collaboration in a hybrid, multi-location setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years' experience or an associate's degree with 10+ years' experience.
Experience with firewall security hardening and central management tools.
Hands-on with Palo Alto Panorama for PAN-OS management.
Demonstrated networking and switching protocols experience.
A US Citizen who can obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Cisco Certified CCNA and baseline DoD 8140 certs.

Responsibilities

Integrate compute, storage, security, and cloud access into network architectures.
Refine and finalize designs with customers.
Mentor junior staff in network engineering and design.
Collaborate with team members to support growth and learning.
Develop solutions for future engagements with customers.
Troubleshoot complex network issues and document root cause analyses.
Design and implement firewall policies to secure networks.
Maintain VPN connectivity with partners and vendors.
Troubleshoot escalated issues across hardware, OS, and applications.
Monitor firewall logs, security incidents, and provide performance reports.
Support hybrid multi-location operations and automation improvements.
Document status updates and knowledge articles for teams.
