Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and sustain enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure in a DoD environment. Roles include configuring Cisco routing/switching, Palo Alto firewalls, and secure VPN solutions to support classified operations.

The ideal candidate holds TS/SCI clearance, CCNA, and 8570/8140 IAT II certification with 8+ years of relevant experience. On-site roles are in Fort Belvoir, VA or Albuquerque, NM, with strong emphasis on RMF and STIG compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, or equivalent).
• Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
• Active TS/SCI clearance at time of hire.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DDI, NAT, VLANs, QoS, OSPF, MPLS, SASE.
• Hands-on experience configuring Palo Alto next‑gen firewalls, policies, NAT, and GlobalProtect.
• Experience implementing secure remote-access and site-to-site VPNs.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise LAN/WAN environments and DoD networking systems.
• Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, and Zero Trust concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN and WAN infrastructure.
• Engineer and support Cisco routing and switching environments for mission-critical networks.
• Configure and optimize routing technologies: OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP.
• Support WAN connectivity via MPLS, VPN, and Internet-based transport.
• Configure Palo Alto firewalls and GlobalProtect VPN solutions.
• Monitor network health and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
• Develop engineering docs, network diagrams, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure RMF/STIG compliance.
• Support DoD enterprise with incident response and high-availability.
• Contribute to network modernization and infrastructure upgrades.
