Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Project Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure DoD-aligned network solutions for JB Andrews and surrounding sites. You will lead engineering efforts, create detailed architectures, and ensure compliance with DoD standards.

You will collaborate with system engineers and project managers, maintain rigorous documentation, and oversee installation of network gear including taclanes and firewalls. A DoD clearance and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• Active Security+ or CCNP Security (8140) certification.
• Active CCNA (8140) certification.
• Strong background in end-to-end network architecture design for DoD environments.
• Experience evaluating and recommending new networking technologies and tools.
• Experience documenting network architectures, diagrams, procedures, and baselines.
• Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and DoD 8500 series compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Network Engineer on assigned projects.
• Develop detailed network designs and DoD-aligned architectures.
• Coordinate with system engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure delivery.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, installations, and changes.
• Oversee installation and configuration of routers, switches, taclanes, and firewalls.
• Ensure compliance with 802.1x, DoD STIGs and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with procurement to source network hardware/software.
• Perform site surveys and conduct tests to validate designs.
