Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer in the Allentown, PA area to design electric utility systems and manage complex work packages. You will work with GIS/WMS tools like ArcGIS, Smallworld, and Maximo, coordinating with clients to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of distribution design experience, an ABET-accredited engineering degree, and a PE license or ability to obtain PA licensure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of direct experience designing electric distribution systems for utilities or consulting.
• ABET-accredited degree required in engineering; PE preferred or obtainable in PA.
• Active PE license or ability to obtain PA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, and Make Ready using GIS/WMS systems (EFD, AUD, Smallworld, ArcGIS, Infor, EAM, STORMS, Maximo).
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work.
• Conduct functional tasks, planning, and customer follow-up.
• Analyze scope and maintain schedule adherence to meet client priorities.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and quality of deliverables.
• Coordinate with field engineers on large, complex cable/conduit projects and obtain permits/easements/ROW as needed.
• Support field-site visits to collect data and develop work packages.
