Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Columbus, OH is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead distribution design projects for upstream and midstream facilities, reviewing sketches, calculations, BOMs, and cost estimates.

You will work in project teams, perform process hazard analyses and design reviews, and interact with client representatives. The role offers a hybrid schedule (three days in office) and relocation assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of experience with electric utility distribution or equivalent.
• Knowledge of distribution design methods and their applications.
• Familiarity with codes and standards (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE).
• Experience with overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34kV).
• PLS CADD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and designers in distribution design for 4 kV–34 kV systems.
• Review construction sketches, BOMs, and cost estimates.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and design reviews.
• Coordinate with client representatives and travel to sites as needed.
• Develop work packages and provide construction support.
• Mentor project team and promote peer-learning.
