Job summary
Sargent & Lundy seeks an engineer to lead a project team for distribution design across 4 kV to 38 kV systems. You will prepare sketches, review work packages, and coordinate with field teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
The role requires ABET-accredited degree and 2+ years in electric utility distribution, with proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and PoleForeman. Hybrid work offers three days in office and two remote.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree.
- 2+ years in electric utility distribution or reviewing others' work.
- Knowledge of distribution design methods and related standards.
- Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE) and distribution software (AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman).
- Experience with overhead/underground distribution projects (120/208V through 38 kV).
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a project team of engineers and designers on distribution projects.
- Prepare/review construction sketches and work packages for 4 kV–38 kV facilities.
- Perform field work as needed and provide construction support.
- Coordinate with joint use, traffic control plans, and permits.
- Support scoping, cost estimates, and BOM development.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
