Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced designer to support distribution projects in a hybrid setup. You will prepare construction drawings, perform calculations, and develop work packages for electrical distribution systems across 4 kV to 34 kV. Relocation may be offered depending on location.

Required are a drafting-related degree or engineering technology degree, 10+ years in distribution design, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Knowledge of NESC/NEC/IEEE and GIS is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma.
• 10+ years of distribution design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledgeable of codes and standards including NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sketches and details for overhead/underground distribution (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Develop Bills of Materials and estimates.
• Plan system modifications and develop work packages.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Develop work packages and monitor execution.
