Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced distribution engineer to lead design and QA/QC for overhead and underground networks (4 kV–34 kV) in a hybrid environment requiring three days in the office and two remote days. You will coordinate with clients and internal teams while guiding junior engineers and delivering robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• This position requires a degree from an engineering program.
• 9 or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience.
• PE License, a plus
• Five or more years of experience in physical distribution design methods and their application.
• Knowledgeable in applicable codes, standards, and distribution type software programs including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, etc.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34kV).
• Experience serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services and related tasks.
• Designs overhead URD and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Analyses and designs priority feeds.
• Plan modifications to distribution systems and oversee complex engineering tasks.
• Develop work packages and monitor performance of the work.
• Provide QA/QC on Issue for Construction job packages and mentor entry level engineers.
• Coordinate and lead meetings with clients and internal teams.
