Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Wilmington, DE seeks a senior electrical engineer to lead project teams in the design of upstream and midstream distribution facilities. You will prepare and review construction drawings for 4 kV–34 kV systems and collaborate with clients to clarify design requirements.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering degree and 5+ years in electric utility distribution, with proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, and ideally PLS CADD.

Qualifications

• This position requires a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of experience in electric utility distribution to review work by others.
• Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and codes such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman and related distribution software.
• PLS CADD experience is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead a project team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution (4 kV–34 kV).
• Perform short-circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Lead project teams of engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with client representatives for design questions and reviews.
• Develop work packages and provide construction support.
• Travel for design reviews and field verification of designs.
