Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work schedule combining office and remote work. The role leads engineers and designers in electric utility distribution projects, including overhead/underground designs and material cost estimates.

Essential requirements include an engineering-adjacent degree with 6+ years in distribution design, familiarity with NESC/NEC/IEEE, and strong communication to guide project teams. Collaboration across disciplines is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a design-related field or a 4-year non-engineering degree.
• 6+ years of experience in electric utility distribution or related work to review others.
• Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and their application.
• Familiarity with design codes/standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with complex overhead/underground distribution projects (120/208V through 38kV).
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead a project team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/Review construction sketches and work packages for distribution facilities (4 KV through 38 KV).
• Lead a project team and coordinate with designers and engineers.
• Perform field work as needed and support maintenance/recapitalization of distribution components.
• Provide construction support and client communication when necessary.
