Job summary

Moveworks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the runtime infrastructure powering its Agentic Systems. You will work on distributed systems engineering that orchestrates, executes, and delivers agent responses at scale.

You’ll design and own long-running sessions, event-driven pipelines, and observability, ensuring correctness, low latency, and resilience for millions of enterprise users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production backend/infrastructure systems.
• Strong in Python or Go (ideally both).
• Experience designing and operating systems that handle real traffic at scale.
• Comfort with ambiguity — these are novel problems without textbook solutions.

Responsibilities

• Agent orchestration engine - manage long-running agent sessions across multiple calls and tools.
• Distributed session management with lease-based ownership and crash recovery.
• Event-driven pipeline using SQS/Kafka for ordered delivery and real-time streaming.
• Structured concurrency with Python asyncio TaskGroups for parallel tasks per session.
• Observability infrastructure with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
• Caching/state layers using Redis and DynamoDB with per-org/per-bot scoping.
