Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a distributed systems engineer to build the runtime infrastructure powering Moveworks AI agents. This role focuses on orchestration, real-time execution, and reliable delivery, not on ML training.

You will own an event-driven stack, including SQS/Kafka queues, Redis and DynamoDB state, and observability across async boundaries to ensure low latency and correctness at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production backend/infrastructure systems.
• Strong in Python or Go (ideally both).
• Experience designing and operating systems that handle real traffic at scale.

Responsibilities

• Agent orchestration engine: manage long-running sessions across multiple LLM calls.
• Distributed session management with lease mechanisms and checkpointing.
• Event-driven pipeline using SQS, Kafka, gRPC, and Socket.IO.
• Observability infrastructure with OpenTelemetry and tracing.
• Caching and state layers using Redis and DynamoDB.
