Job summary

MTA Construction & Development is seeking a Senior Director, Project Controls (Stations) to lead the project controls function for the Delivery/Stations division. This executive role oversees staffing, budgets, and policy decisions while aligning with senior management objectives.

The Senior Director will establish performance KPIs, drive complex project controls solutions, and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver critical transportation infrastructure projects in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience, including at least six (6) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect desirable. PMI-SP, EVP, CCP, or CPE Certifications are desirable.
• Significant experience in project management for major construction projects or project controls with highly complex systems preferred.
• Substantial experience leading and managing contractors, subcontractors, or vendors.
• Proven ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and drive outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
• Must be a proven lead as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with the ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements.
• Must possess excellent team building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Proven complex experience in tackling large-scale program/project control issues.
• Establishes key performance indicators and holds team accountable for complex project controls mitigation strategies, innovative reporting, and proactive engagement with project teams and agency owners.
• Provides resource balancing for project needs and optimizing time amongst team members.
• Reviews and assists in force account project need throughout the project planning stage and leverages seamless handoff to project controls team members to monitor/track throughout the project lifecycle.
