Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Senior Director of Project Management to oversee capital and operating project delivery within the Delivery Department. This role ensures safe, on-schedule, within-budget project execution across multiple units and manages staff, contractors, and consultants.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years in construction program management, with PMP/CCM credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience.
• Minimum eight (8) years in the management of construction programs/projects or a supervisory role in a large, multi-faceted organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities through project close-out.
• Monitor project performance against baselines and pursue opportunities for improved performance.
• Identify project issues and risks and ensure timely resolution and mitigation.
• Lead a project or designated program initiative with supervision of internal staff and consultants.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of engineering and construction and a proven record in program management, contract administration, project management, and construction engineering.
• Recommend solutions to senior management for the resolution of critical issues.
• Coordinate with project team, C&D staff, contractors, consultants, and operating agency staff.
• Ensure necessary actions, approvals, and resources are in place to support project delivery.
• Oversee facility design process for Capital and Operating budgeted projects, ensuring compliance with standards and safety.
